BPM (Business Process Management) is an organizational process management system which fully automates manual or semi-manual processes. Paperwork is replaced by computerized forms that are electronically distributed to authorized decision makers.

BPM systems usually include three main components:

• Business Process Analysis (BPA) - This process planning and analysis tool is designed for business staff to build process models that represent the business. A technical background is not required to use this tool.
• Business Process Management (BPM) - This tool manages the execution of processes, translating workflow diagrams into code and executing the code.
• Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) - Processes are monitored as they happen using this module.
