OptimizeIT provides a single console view of all your licenses and license servers, thereby enabling you to centrally manage, track, and control the licenses in your organization. You simply identify your license server environment and immediately have a network-wide view of all your license assets. From the management console, you can monitor and manage license servers, set alerts to flag potential problems, view real-time license usage, and run historical usage reports.
In order to allow companies to improve their licenses utilization:
- OptimizeIT creates a profile for each user in the company. This profile includes different parameters that determines which applications this user is currently using, on which machines, how and for how long
- OptimizeIT creates a profile for each application that the company is using. This profile includes different parameters that determines whether the application is activated or not. It will also determine which functionality has been used (editing vs. viewing)
- The combination of the end user and application profiles determines automatically whether licenses that were checked out from the license server are being actively used at a given moment
- For floating/concurrent license models: once OptimizeIT notices that a certain checked-out license is not currently being used by a specific user, it will either suggest the IT department to check-in this license or close down the application and release the license back to the license server
